It did not work again tonight.
I am on a YYZ-LHR flight tomorrow night - on an A class fare. Was on the upgrade waitlist, despite J9 all week, did not clear. Went to check in tonight, was not offered the upgrade button on the check-in screen, and had to call concierge to get added to the list.
Something is up or there is a hole somewhere in the algorithm.

Policies and practices are changed from time to time, frequently without any official announcement. It's nice to reconfirm from time to time.
There have been several reports of inability to request upgrade waitlist with eligible fare during the OLCI process. Any one able to offer an update?

On most of my recent OLCIs, the upgrade waitlist button has NOT appeared - these were typically U/M fares to/from LHR. I was on the pre-airport waitlist, but it had not cleared, and with the button not showing up, as indicated above, I had to call the concierge to get added to the airport list.
Is there a new bug?

On a related and old question, are those on D waitlist/standby for same day earlier flights still amongst the highest priority?
Not to mention you can only request frequent flyer upgrades for Flight Pass through phone.
Same - It's a pain in the A** especially if you need to change the flight.

Does my head in & and you get treated like crap when you call because "It's online sir for a reason were not meant to be doing it" well if that's the case then fix the thing.

But in the end, you take your chances...
The online upgrade button for me has never worked - always greyed out. :(
Anyway, usually I call around 00h00 and I get straight through. Last night was the first time I had to wait like that.
