• i think it was after a windows update but now i

    1. can't ftp to my xbox


    2. can't connect to my smb via my xbox


    ( note: i always went external, my xbox and pc are on a switch and have similar ip with different last octet )


  • yes it did......

    how are we to know with the huge amount of information you encluded.

    what update was it?
    can you ping your xbox?
    is your windows firewall now on?


  • none of those updates should have anything todo with your problem.
    turn your firewall off and try again.
    perhaps use windows restore to before you did the update and see if it still doesnt work.

  • this is really weird i can't ping my xbox nor ftp into it.

    yet i can play online via xlink!!!!!


  • i have the same problem, but i can ping and connect by ftp. the problem is however that i canīt connect by smb.
    so whats the point having a network if you can take full advantage of it.

    i would be really grateful if i could get som help how to solve this problem...

  • ok its definitely my pc cuz i took my xbox to a freinds pc and it was all fine.

    as for the firewall yes was always up and my ports were open did not change any settings, all i did was windows update.


    i will now try and find out what my update was
