• Hi,

    I tried to run JSBuildConsole.exe on Linux using Mono but it fails (System.InvalidOperationException: There was an error reflecting type 'JSBuild.Options'. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: JSBuild.Options cannot be serialized because it does not have a default public constructor).

    I know it's only supported on Windows, but it would be nice if it would work on Mono (Linux, MacOSX) too.

  • Is the source for this available anywhere, regardless of what state it's in? I suspect there are quite a few java developers here who won't mind helping out.


  • I briefly looked at trying to port JSB to Mono a while back, but as I'm not too familiar with Mono it wasn't too easy to get things working correctly. Porting it into Mono is probably not going to happen at this point, although we have discussed porting it to either Java or something else that would be cross-platform. Frankly, the biggest issue now is that it's a utility that works pretty well for our current needs, so putting a lot more time into it right now is hard for us to justify over working on the Ext codebase.

    With the release of the new learn section i can get back to working on the java builder I need to finish up my testing on the mac and then i'll be able to release a build of it for you all to play around with. I'm looking at sometime this weekend for an alpha release.

  • The source is almost done. I need to talk with Jack about the release as right now it's just a .jar file but let me talk with Jack and I'm sure it will be release soon.


  • Just an update. I've been working on it for the past few hour now and working out all the bugs on linux. I have to warn you this is my first shot at a Java App so the code is not all it can be.

    Be watching in the next few days for a release.

    I understand that the foremost goal currently is to get Extjs 1.0 out of the door. I got remote access on a Window machine of a friend so I'm able to use my SVN account and build Extjs at the moment.

  • We are also working on a Java Builder that will be cross platform. It will be a bit more involved to start with as you will have to pass it a jsb file but we do have a interface for it slated to be created.


  • After talking with Jack last night, I'm going to release an alpha of the java ext builder sometime this coming week. I'll keep you all updated.
