• my 3 yr old boy wont stay in his bed going to bed is ok but he gets up in the early hours and get in his sisters bed what do you suggest i should do . do you think he will grow out of it

  • i think that if you give him a little time he will grow out of it. he is probably a little afraid when he first wakes up and just wants some company

  • buy him a night light and a teddy bear. or you can always waits ntil he falls asleep and lift him to his own bed.

  • My 5 year old son used to do that until i got him a nightlight that i stuck up next to his bed and also got him a cuddly teddy to comfort him, it did the job.

  • How old is is sister and does she mind? If she doesn't and it doesn't distrub her, I'd say let it go. Ask him though, why he does it... I'd guess because he just wants the company.

If she does mind or it wakes her and she is upset, then you will need a better solution.

  • He's fine as long as he is staying in his bed most of the night. You need to praise him for this and it will encourage him to stay in his bed throughout. He will eventually get bored or lazy even and stay in his bed in the morning. Its quite scary for him to be sleeping alone. Its nothing to really worry about. Hope this helps :)

  • Yes, he will. i did this myself when i was a kid.

  • i don't think theres much to worry about, my niece and nefue often get up and sleep in each others beds. its perfectly normal (theyr 8 and 10), just as long as he knows that he should be sleeping in his own bed. he should grow out of it, but for now as long as his sister doesn't mind, then its fine.

(oh, and i also used to this kind of thing up untill about 9, and im perfectly ok)

  • Ask him what's so uncomfortable about his own bed. Maybe it's something about his bed 'cause he manages to stay in his sisters bed but not his own.

    Cheers.

  • Reward him with something for staying in his own bed throughout the night. Like give him a chart or something nad when he gets a certain amount of stickers for each night you can give him a reward (like go to the zoo, or something like that)

  • I used to do that when I was little.. I'd climb out of my cot and sleep in my older sisters bed. I think I did it because it made me feel big and I looked up to her. maybe encourage your son to go outside and play rather than lay in bed? Good luck!
